Artificial Limb Center
The KMYF Artificial Limb Center has been dedicated to restoring mobility and dignity to thousands of individuals with physical disabilities. Located at Bhagawan Mahaveer Jain Hospital, this fully self-sufficient center provides artificial limbs and calipers at no -cost to those in need.

At A Glance
For thousands of physically challenged individuals, mobility is a daily struggle—especially when access to prosthetics is limited by financial, social, and systemic barriers. The journey to independence often ends before it begins.
- Prosthetics and mobility aids are often unaffordable for low-income families, leaving many without the support they need.
- Specialized limb-fitting centers are scarce outside urban centers, making it difficult for rural patients to receive timely care.
- Fitting a limb is only the beginning—patients need follow-up care, training, and rehabilitation, which are often overlooked or unavailable.
- Comprehensive, End-to-End Support

Our Strategy
Recognizing this gap, KMYF established the Artificial Limb Center in 1983 to offer artificial limbs and calipers to people with disabilities at no-cost. From limb fitting to rehabilitation, the center follows a comprehensive care model. Backed by a team of skilled professionals and donors, we have already helped over 63,000 individuals walk, work, and live with pride.
Comprehensive, End-to-End Support
We provide a fully integrated ecosystem—from in-house manufacturing using advanced technology to expert fitting, training, counselling, and long-term rehabilitation—all under one roof.

Open to All No-cost Service
Every artificial limb and caliper is provided completely at no-cost, regardless of the individual’s background, location, or financial situation. Our goal is to ensure no one is denied mobility due to affordability.
Rural and Remote Outreach
We actively organize on-ground fitment camps in remote areas across Karnataka and beyond, bringing high-quality prosthetic services to underserved communities who cannot reach urban centers.

Expert Fitment & Personalised Care
From below-the-knee to upper limb prosthetics, each fitting is done by trained professionals with attention to comfort, mobility, and ease of use. Every patient is guided through fitting, adjustment, and usage.

In-House Manufacturing
Our center uses quality indigenous materials sourced from trusted suppliers. Every limb is custom-crafted on-site to ensure a perfect fit and lasting durability.
This end-to-end control ensures we maintain both quality and affordability without relying on external vendors.

Rehabilitation
Beyond prosthetics, we focus on reintegration—offering counselling, mobility training, and exploring partnerships for job placements and skill-building with organizations like Samarthanam and TRRAIN Foundation. Our ultimate goal is to empower individuals with the tools, confidence, and opportunities to reclaim their place in society.
Our Impact So Far
The Change
The journey from immobility to independence is powerful—and at the Artificial Limb Center, we witness it every day. Through photos and before-after stories, we highlight individuals who walked again, held a tool again, or simply regained the ability to move freely.
